Separated Dads Group (Bristol): Talking To Your Children With Confidence During Divorce
March 14 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Parenting can be tough, but parenting before, during and after a separation brings parenting to a whole different level.
– Are you going through a separation that is causing stress and worry?
– Do you fear that the situation is having a negative effect on your children?
– Do you need some tools and strategies to help you cope with the separation that will support you AND your children get through this with as little negative impact as possible?
Together we will explore ways to deal with your struggles and make sure your children (and you) get the right support, whatever stage you are at in your separation.
Topic: Talking To Your Children With Confidence During Divorce
It can be really hard to tell the children that Mum and Dad are separating without causing them to feel guilt, anger or confusion. We explore words to use and also NOT use, what to say and what not to say.
We look at how to talk to a child about the situation during and after the separation and explore ways to build a healthy and strong connection and relationship that gives everyone the space and confidence they need to maintain open communication.
The session is designed to help you create a clear, fair and productive communication model with your ex partner, and also to support you with the communication and relationship with your children as you adjust to the changes in your family life.
This is also an opportunity for you to meet other likeminded dads who are equally determined to do what is in the best interests of their children. You will be able to share experiences, learn together and support each other.
This session is for anyone who wants to be a more positive and focused father figure, no matter what you are going through in your separation. In this group we help you to move forward in a constructive way, this is not a place for “slating the ex” so we keep the focus on the positives!
