Say No – Successfully (Chobham)
March 20 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
We are once again offering our popular worskhop on the art of saying no – without a guilty conscience. Many parents feel that this is one of the most difficult aspects of being a parent.
Setting boundaries and communicating these are an inescapable part of life with children. And because children learn through repetition – and because we cannot create rules around everything – we find ourselves having to say no many times throughout the day.
In this interactive and informative workshop we will share with you our top tips and strategies to effectively communicate your boundaries in a way that you can feel good about. Once we master the art of saying no in ways that does not make the other feel wrong or shamed – it is possible for both you and our child to better listen, accept and respect.
Children are possibility seekers and like little scientists they will explore ways around a barrier with relentless perseverance until they have their desires met. And that is exactly as it should be!
But our job is to decide what is okay and what is not acceptable – and there are never any cut and dry answers for this. But the way we go about saying no and setting limits will have a huge impact on how our kids respond and on the actual outcome.
This workshop is for you if you:
– Feel that your no is rarely respected
– Feel that it is difficult to say no without feeling guilty.
– Feel that saying no is easy – but that the aftermath is difficult to tolerate (the reaction)
– Feel unclear about how to say no in a respectful way without losing authority.
We welcome parents of children of all ages and love it when you bring your partner too!
You will receive additional practical information about the event closer to the date of the workshop.
We look forward to meeting you.
